SHINE UTOPIANS

Shine Utopians is a large-scale performance, a festival, and a temporary utopian village which received a nomination for performance of the year by the Norwegian Critics Association in 2020.

Audiences enter a space as if they are guests visiting a strange community, nothing in the space is hidden, everything is already there and visible. Slowly, the 13 performers inhabiting the theater, engages in ways of practicing weird intimacies, navigating dances and everyday gestures, all while trying to perform a collective care for each other, the space, and their visitors. The project explores queer(er) ways of spending time together, village-making, and distorted desires.

Apart from the performance, the four days of occupying Dansens Hus in Oslo consisted of a seminar, a concert, parties, screenings, and workshops.
Initiated and made together with Harald Beharie and Karoline Bakken Lund.
